Card or individual tickets?
For Lisbon, the question is, is the Lisboa Card worth it, or do you come out ahead with individual tickets? It comes down to how many paid monuments you plan to visit and how much you'll use the tram and metro.
What the card covers
The Lisboa Card bundles all city public transport (including the airport, trams and funiculars) with free admission to many top sights such as Jerónimos Monastery and Belém Tower. Full details in our guide Is the Lisboa Card worth it?.
When each option pays off
If you're visiting several paid sights a day and travelling a lot by public transport, the card shows its strength, especially on a Belém day. If instead you're mainly after the free miradouros, long walks, and a day trip to Sintra (not included!), individual tickets are often the cheaper choice. The table above helps you run the numbers.
